Final fight streetwise yakuza
The only weak points for me are lack of online play, the art style and that they go too overboard with references to other games. Considering the difficulty of the later difficulty levels you can play for a long time. Branching paths with different endings, 6 difficulty levels, a few modes and some costumes to unlock. There's also plenty of content and replayability for a Beat'em Up.
Some will block, some will wake up invencibles, some will tech grabs, some will anti air. For example, you have this enemy that has a bit more range than you, so he will always stop just outside your range to make you whiff then whiff punish you. The special system is like in SoR3, in which the specials consume life bar, but there's a cooldown bar that allows you to use it without sacrificing health, with the addition that there's a parry system Sf3 style( press forward timely) and if you land it, it instantly fills your special bar, making parries really rewarding. games in general and very cryptic (I look at you Yakuza games haha) And knowing their scoring system is already broken. You only have your usual 3 buttons( attack, jump, special) but due to a flexible juggle system, command specials, cancels and fighting game inspiration it becomes pretty fun and quite elaborate for a beat'em up( Check out some combo trials). As for 3D, Final Fight Streetwise, Yakuza 2, and God Hand. The gameplay is tight, responsive, and once you unlock turbo mode it is quite fast paced. Cadillacs and Dinosaurs isn't that good but I enjoy it a lot, guilty pleasure. Put nostalgia aside and there's nothing that comes close.
